Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty involves the surgical adjustment/reduction of the labia, and/or the reshaping of an uneven labia, which aims to improve the aesthetic appearance and reduce any associated discomfort. The labia are the inner and outer folds of skin and tissue that are situated on either side of the vaginal opening. This can be due to a number of causes, including, age, childbirth, or congenital factors.
The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia, and the aim of the surgery is to adjust and/or reduce the labia, in order to enhance the appearance. Often patients can have low self-esteem associated with the appearance, and can feel self-conscious in clothing due to the contour. The surgery decreases the size of the outer skin and tissue, in order to create a slimmer and more youthful contour. This can improve a patient’s confidence dramatically both in and out of clothing.
