Sculptra is a plant-derived collagen biostimulator injectable that stimulates your own body to produce collagen. The type of collagen that it primarily stimulates is Type 1 Collagen which is our structural and supportive collagen in the skin.
Sculptra stimulates Type 1 Collagen by 67% in 12 weeks, which results in a natural lifting effect to the treated area, a significant improvement in elasticity (bounce back to the skin), and an improvement in the radiance and luminosity of the skin.
Initially, patients will require a course of two to five sessions, depending on the patient’s quality of skin and anatomy. Maintainence sessions would be done once a year thereafter. The collagen produced by Sculptra will last 18 to 24 months.
